Experiment
I did another experiment today with hot glue, i poured water down he outside of the window, as it was not raining. I then on the inside used hot glue to trance to patterns of the water. So far i have done three squares and i am really impressed with the results. I love how the pattern is completely natural and that it manages to capture the rain. I think i am going to take this idea further and do a larger section of the window, maybe on my french windows. I learnt from this little experiment to make sure i do not spread the glue to thinly and to allow the glass to go cold before adding another layer as it dose not stick as well when it is too hot. I am starting to think that creating a large blanket of glue and draping it over light is going to look really effective. I need to buy a tube light so that i can experiment with this type of lighting.
Above is a scan of one panel of hot glue, i am really excited about the shapes and patterns that emerged. Some parts it became really week and i had to strengthen it with more glue. I love how it looks like ice, the shiny reflective quality to it. I think i need to create a larger version and look in to ways of displaying it. Also scan more images as i really like the way the scan has come out, it shows depth and form, with the close up being in perfect focus and the background blurred.
