The temporary
I need to start looking at what forms of the ephemeral i can communicate. So far i have been looking at elements such as rain and clouds and water. I think i would also like to look at and also the materials i can use to try and capture them:

• ice and the way it can freeze.  I think this is communicated through he use of the hot glue and i need to loom at frozen water and its shapes but i don't think i will do a separate experiment on it. 
• lightening and the patterns it creates through its unnatural light. i don't think i am going to be able to capture it in a sculptural form but i could combine it with one of my other ideas. The rain out of hot glue i could use a lightning like flash of light to have it illuminated. 
• rivers and fast flowing streams for their shapes they create. I was thinking i could do two experiments with this i can use clay to create the ripples and pattern of flowing water on a board of some kind or maybe like tiles so that could go together. I can also use a bowl, warm it up then swill melted wax around in it so it looks like flowing water, maybe if i get a round fish bowl i could do this????

I am current having ago at the proposed wax experiment. I found a small bowl shaped piece of plastic and am currently burning a candle to melt the wax. I know i could just cut the wax up and put it in the microwave but i want to be able to manipulate the wax greatly. For this reason i am going to melt the wax slowly and take my time with this experiment. At first it was a bit complicated as the wax had not melted enough but now i have a system going. I melt a small bit of wax and then quickly drop it in to the glass while turning it clock wise. It is slowly starting to build up and i am excited to see the end result.  My first attempt at twisting the wax around the bowl did not work very well the detail did not show up as much as i had hoped. I then did another experiment where i added a drop of water and it was really cool it froze with loads of creavases and craters in it like a storm cloud or frozen river. For my last unit i did start to experiment with wax and so i think it will be interesting to further develop this medium and learn everything about it.
